*the City of Alexandria voted for Barack Obama and his agenda by a margin of 71.7% to 27.3% (a margin of over 31,000 votes); voted for Senator Mark Warner by a margin of 77.3% to 21.3% (a margin of nearly 40,000 votes); voted for Represenative Jim Moran by a margin of 69.9% to 27.7% (a margin of 29,000 votes); and voted for Senator Jim Webb in 2006 by a margin of 70.6% to 28.3% (a margin of nearly 19,000 votes)

Congratulations to the Alexandria Democratic Committee for passing the following resolution (after a "lively debate"), demanding a public option in the health care debate. I would hope to see similar resolutions from many more Democratic committees throughout Virginia.
