Bowerbank Reports $425,000 Cash on Hand

Friday, April 3, 2009

This just in from the Jon Bowerbank for Lieutenant Governor campaign:
Jon Bowerbank, Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor and Russell County Supervisor at-large announced today that his campaign will report cash on hand of approximately $425,000 when filings are due with the State Board of Elections on April 15th.
My main question is how much of this money came from Jon Bowerbank himself and how much came from others. In the end, though, I suppose money's money. And, as Bowerbank's campaign points out, $425,000 is "is nearly double the $230,863 Senator Chap Petersen, a 2005 Lieutenant Governor candidate, reported at the same point in 2005, and Senator Petersen had double the money of his closest competition in a 4 person field." That's a lot of money no matter how you look at it.

P.S. In other LG news, Jody Wagner announced that, "Today 60 more elected officials and local leaders endorsed Jody Wagner for Lieutenant Governor," giving her "the support of 45 members of the General Assembly, 14 Mayors, and hundreds of grassroots activists and volunteers."
