Heading to the "Farm Team" Debate

Sunday, April 19, 2009

I'm heading down to the first statewide, Democratic gubernatorial debate of the 2009 campaign today in Williamsburg. The debate kicks off at 2 p.m. and is being held at the Sadler Center on the campus of the College of William & Mary. Andrea Mitchell of NBC News will moderate. The debate is being sponsored by the "Farm Team," which describes itself as follows:
Established in September 2008, The Farm Team grew from the resolve of a small group of women who gathered at the Patrick County farm of the first and only woman elected statewide in Virginia - Mary Sue Terry. The purpose of this initial gathering was to discuss reinvigorating Democratic women into the electorate statewide. Today The Farm Team is a grassroots and political action network in Virginia, with a single mission: recruit, develop and elect women to office.
I'm not particularly looking forward to the driving there and back, but I am looking forward to the debate itself. My plan is to live blog it, but we'll see how it goes. Anyway, should be interesting...

UPDATE: Live streaming will be available here.
