Video: ThinkProgress Reports From Virginia Tea Parties

It's fascinating (and disturbing) to see and hear the incredible anger by these right wingers at Barack Obama, pretty much for anything and everything, real or (mostly) imagined. For instance, since when did Obama declare war on guns? Last I checked, Democrats had essentially waved the white flag on that issue long ago, even with regard to closing the "gun show loophole" or reinstating the assault weapons ban. So much for that one. Also, what's with this anger against taxes, a few weeks after Obama signed a bill giving 95% of Americans a TAX CUT?!? Utterly bizarre.

And then, as an added bonus in this video, we get to watch Virgil Goode foaming at the mouth about "illegal immigrants," and then deliver the bizarre (but instant classic) line: "Do not crucify the United States of America on the cross of political correctness."

Well, alrighty then, Virgil Goode channels William Jennings Bryan, most famous for his populist/nationalist/anti-"elitist" Cross of Gold speech, and also for his vehement opposition to teaching evolution in public schools (see Scopes Trial). No further comment necessary.
