PPP Virginia Poll Preview

Saturday, August 1, 2009

My favorite pollster from 2008, PPP, is polling Virginia this weekend. Here's a preview of what they're going to conclude based on their tweets and hints so far.

1. Lots of "birthers": "In a result making me want to bang my head against the table, the first round of calls for our Virginia poll this afternoon founds voters in the state almost evenly split on whether they thought the President was born in the US."

1a. Still lots of "birthers," but not quite as many?: "tonight's Va. data: 119 think BHO was born in US, 43 no, 50 not sure. Not as bad as daytime calls-maybe ppl who work ignore consp. theories."

2. Low Democratic enthusiasm: "really low response from Dems on Va poll this weekend- just do not seem motivated for this fall's election yet. Deeds has come back before."

3. Deeds 6-15 points behind McDonnell: "I don't think we're going to have Deeds down by 15 but it will probably be more than the 6 we had him trailing by a month ago."

Not good so far, but I'll keep an eye on this. Of course, as NLS points out, we can all have some fun when this poll comes out showing most Virginia Republicans not knowing or believing that Barack Obama is a citizen of the United States. Craaaazy.

Oh, and speaking of craaaaazy, check this out for a not-exactly-shocking (but still pathetic) discovery.
