Tim Kaine Rallies Canvassers for Chuck Caputo

Monday, October 12, 2009

The following report is from Mary Lee Cerillo. Hopefully I'll have time to post a few of her photos after the debate...

I canvassed for Chuck for a few hours before the rally today at Greenbriar East Elementary School in Chantilly. Greenbriar community is where Delegate Chuck Caputo raised his family so the neighborhood is a familiar one for him. My experience at the doors was quite positive. Several people I spoke to in Sully District where I canvassed were adamant that they were voting a straight Democratic ticket with no doubt. This was encouraging to say the least!!!

We all returned to the school after canvassing, for a rally featuring Governor Tim Kaine. He arrived right before 3:00 PM and spoke to a crowd of eighty plus people who were there to canvass and give their support to Delegate Caputo. Governor Kaine praised Chuck for his ability to act in a bipartisan manner and to get things done in Richmond!!!! I was struck by the amount of young people who were present and were working well beyond any required government hours. They genuinely connect to this man and are willing to get out there and work for him like I've never seen.

Governor Kaine canvassed with Chuck at some homes in Greenbriar and the reception was both warm and welcoming. Without a doubt, Delegate Caputo has made an impact on the community and his constituents are coming out to give their support and see make sure he goes back to Richmond this November 3rd. He is a champion for our public schools and has worked tirelessly on transportation issues in our community. Great day for Caputo!!!!!
