Virgil Goode: 1.5 Million at Glenn Beck "9/12" March
Monday, October 12, 2009
Yes, aside from being a raging homophobe, xenophobe, Islamophobe, and everythingphobe, Virgil's now completely making stuff up, claiming that there were really 1.5 million people at Glenn Beck's "9/12" march in Washington. In fact, the actual number, as reported by the DC Fire Department, was 60,000-70,000 people. That's a pretty large crowd, no doubt, but it's not even 0.1 million, let alone 1.0 million, let alone 1.5 million. I guess that's Republican math and logic for you -- where surpluses as far as the eye can see turn into deficits forever, where the recession that started under (and was caused by the policies of) George W. Bush suddenly becomes the Democrats' fault, where the fastest growth in federal debt didn't occur under Reagan and Bush, where...well, you get the idea.
Meanwhile, I find it fascinating that Sen. Robert Hurt, who is seeking the Republican nomination to take on Tom Perriello in 2010, appeared on the same "TEA Party" rally stage as Craaaaazy Virgil. That kinda says it all about Hurt. Oh, and then there's this other Republican candidate, Laurence Verga, whose answer to everything, including how to reduce the debt, appears to be cutting the corporate tax rate (aka, "voodoo economics"). What a bunch...
