At last night's Attorney General's debate in Prince William County, Republican nominee Ken Cuccinelli huddles with his political soulmate Del. "Sideshow Bob" Marshall (photo courtesy of Mary Lee Cerillo). Yes, the same Bob Marshall who said stuff like...
*"[W]e have no business passing this garbage out and making these co-eds chemical Love Canals for these frat house playboys in Virginia." (with regard to contraception)
*"It is as much a chain as ankle bracelets were as to African-Americans in the 1860s in this state. It’s just invisible. But it is a chain of death that we’re not going to escape." (comparing the economic recovery package to slavery)
*"[S]ometimes incest is voluntary" ((talking about abortion in the case of incest)
*"[T]he woman becomes a sin-bearer of the crime, because the right of a child predominates over the embarrassment of the woman." (with regard to rape)
*"Suicidal deficits, enemies lists, abortion, euthanize seniors, health care that kills capitalism ... "Live and let die," Obama theme song!" (on Twitter)
That's right, we've gone completely over the edge into men-in-white-coats crazy land here. "[M]aking...co-eds chemical Love Canals for...frat house playboys?" "Sometimes incest is voluntary?" "[T]he woman becomes a sin-bearer of the crime?" "Enemies lists?" "Euthaniz[ing] seniors?" Barack Obama's "theme song" is "Live and let die?" Yes, this is why I call him "Sideshow Bob." And yes, this is the Bob Marshall/Ken Cuccinelli wing of the Republican Party of Virginia to a "t" (except in Cooch's case, add in global warming denial and a paranoid "black helicopter" element which worries that the government will track their children through Social Security numbers, etc.).
