Even the leadership of his own party understands the truth that illusory revenue schemes will not fund transportation. Delegate Bob Purkey (R-Virginia Beach), current Chairman of the Virginia House Finance Committee, proposes an increase in the gas tax and tolls to realistically meet the demands for transportation infrastructure maintenance and construction.
