SurveyUSA is out with its latest approval ratings for governors and Senators. Here are the results for Virginia.
Tim Kaine: 56%-37% (+19 points approval), up 1 point from 57%-37% in the last SurveyUSA poll. Kaine's approval is highest in NOVA, at 64%-25%, and lowest in "Shenandoah," at 49%-46%.
Jim Webb: 52%-35% (+17), up 2 points from 52%-37% in the last SurveyUSA poll. There continues to be a HUGE gender gap, with Webb's approval among women (62%-23%) by far and away higher than it is among men (42%-46%). Regionally, Webb's approval is highest in southeastern Virginia (65%-28%) and lowest in "Shenandoah" (42%-43%).
Mark Warner: 66%-27% (+39), up 3 points from 65%-29% in the last SurveyUSA poll. Still the most popular statewide politician in Virginia. Warner is popular in all regions of the Commonwealth, including 71%-23% in southeastern Virginia, 70%-20% in NOVA and 67%-25% in central Virginia.
Basically, we've got two popular Democrats U.S. Senators and a popular Democratic governor. This bodes well heading into the 2009 general election for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and the House of Delegates.
