In the first quarter of 2009, Democratic Attorney General nominee-to-be Steve Shannon raised $272,645 and now has $923,805 on hand. Even more impressive, Shannon outraised all the Republican AG candidates combined by nearly $40,000. That's right, Ken Cuccinelli raised $86,022, John Brownlee $105,207, and David Foster $44,355, for a total of about $236,000 -- $36,000 less than what Steve Shannon raised alone.
As if that's not good enough, Shannon also has a 3:1 lead in cash on hand over the three Republicans combined -- $924,000 to about $301,000. But wait, there's more! :) Steve Shannon is now about $285,000 ahead of where Bob McDonnell was 4 years ago at this point, and more than $600,000 ahead of where Creigh Deeds was at the same time. Not too shabby, I'd say. Go Steve!
