"No Right to Remain Silent"

The Virginia Tech shootings took place almost exactly two years ago, on April 16, 2007. Many people would probably prefer to forget that horrible day, but former Virginia Tech English Department chair and distinguished professor Lucinda Roy - who worked individually with Seung-Hui Cho after he wrote a particularly disturbing poem - has some thoughts which she shares in a new book and also on the Diane Rehm Show (see description below). I definitely think her perspective is worth listening to.

Lucinda Roy, Alumni and Distinguished Professor of English at Virginia Tech. She is also author of the novel "Lady Moses" and several poetry books. She teaches courses on creative writing, the civil rights movement, and literature.

Dr. Carol Bernstein, is President-Elect of the American Psychiatric Association. She serves as Associate Professor of Psychiatry and is an Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education at the NYU School of Medicine.
