Colin Powell Rebuffs Dick Cheney on Obama National Security Record

Sunday, February 21, 2010

According to General Colin Powell, "to suggest that somehow we have become much less safer because of the actions of the administration, I don’t think that’s borne out by the facts." For some reason, I believe Colin Powell a wee bit more than I believe Dick Cheney on this one. :)

By the way, in yet another Obama Administration success story in fighting the War on Terror, we've now captured another major Taliban operative. Dick Cheney can say that victories like this one - more success by Obama in 1 year, arguably, than Bush/Cheney had in 8 years - "makes us less safe" or whatever other nonsense he feels like spewing out. But with absolutely nothing to back up his assertions, why should we pay one iota of attention?

UPDATE: The Washington Post reports that Powell "cautioned fellow conservatives who call President Obama a socialist, saying rough-and-tumble politics is nothing new, but to constantly criticize without attempting to offer new ideas is not productive."
