Wasn't This Supposed to Be the "Grassroots Campaign?"
Monday, June 1, 2009
It appears that there are three stages to Brian Moran syndrome:
1. Insist that people couldn't possibly be supporting your opponent(s) unless they're somehow "bought and paid for," stupid, crazy, or whatever, while conveniently ignoring the fact that your own campaign is spending huge amounts of money on highly paid/highly questionable consultants like Lionell Spruill.
2. Claim that GOTV is all a waste of resources ("Strategists for Moran, a 12-year veteran of the House of Delegates who spent years campaigning for Democrats across the state as his party's caucus chairman, said they view that kind of operation as a waste of resources on voters unlikely to come out for a June primary.") Hahahahaha.
and
3. Pay people (!!!!) to knock on doors for you. That's right, let me repeat: Brian Moran's "grassroots campaign" is PAYING PEOPLE TO KNOCK ON DOORS FOR THEM!!!! It's not a joke, check it out. Wow.
