War Supplemental Passes: Virginia Representatives' Votes

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Earlier this evening, the House of Representatives passed a $106 billion supplemental appropriations bill, primarily to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The vote was 226-202, with just 5 Republicans joining 221 Democrats in voting "yea." The Virginia delegation voted as follows:

Nye (D-2): Yea
Scott (D-3): Yea
Perriello (D-5): Yea
Moran (D-8): Yea
Boucher (D-9): Yea
Connolly (D-11): Yea

Wittman (R-1): Nay
Forbes (R-4): Nay
Cantor (R-5): Nay
Goodlatte (R-6): Nay
Wolf (R-10): Nay

Sensing a pattern here? :) Seriously, though, can you imagine what Republicans would be saying if Democrats had voted against "funding the troops" back in the Bush Administration? Actually, we don't have to imagine because what they said was that Democrats were surrender monkeys, traitors, etc. Fortunately for Republicans, we Democrats don't use rhetoric like that. Heh.
