Former Lt. Gov. Candidate Jon Bowerbank Endorses Miles Grant for Delegate
ARLINGTON, VA (June 3, 2009) – Jon Bowerbank, former Democratic candidate for lieutenant governor, announced his endorsement today of Miles Grant’s bid for the Democratic nomination for Virginia House of Delegates in Arlington’s 47th district.
“If we’re going to see real progress on clean energy, transportation solutions, and civil liberties, we don’t need more of the same in Richmond. We need a delegate who’ll fight for real change to create jobs and move Virginia’s economy forward,” said Jon Bowerbank. “That’s why I’m giving my full support to Miles Grant in Tuesday’s primary. He’s willing to stand up for what’s right.”
Bowerbank is a current member of the Russell County Board of Supervisors and owner of a successful energy services company. Bowerbank’s support comes on the heels of endorsements of Miles Grant for Delegate by the Virginia Sierra Club and the Virginia Partisans, a statewide group of gay and lesbian Democrats.
Miles Grant is a former board chair of the Arlingtonians for a Clean Environment. His hundreds of hours of community service work helped earn him the 2007 James B. Hunter Arlington Community Hero Award. Grant works for the National Wildlife Federation and blogs on environmental issues at TheGreenMiles.com.
