Jim Webb on Criminal Justice Commission Act of 2009
Tuesday, November 3, 2009
Tired of this election? How about another important subject, one that Jim Webb again is courageously stepping up to the plate to tackle -- our out-of-control prison-industrial complex. All I can say is, thank goodness we elected this guy; he won't back down, even on politically "controversial" issues like this one. As Webb points out, "We have four times as many people in prison in the United States who are mentally ill than we do do in mental institutions today; they're not getting the care that they need and they also are clogging up our prison system." That's a disgrace, and it's time to fix it. Thank you, Jim Webb!
