Want to know why it's a bad idea to have national groups do your dirty work for you? You risk sounding like someone who has no clue what Virginia's real problems are.
The national Republican Governors Association has launched a negative ad attacking Creigh Deeds for trying to solve Virginia's transportation funding crisis. The clear implication: The Republican Governors Association thinks Virginia should keep rearranging deck chairs on our transportation Titanic.
Of course, if you don't live in Virginia and you're just an anti-government ideologue, raising revenue might sound like a bad idea. But if you're sick of sitting in delays on Virginia's roads, rails, and on Metro, you're probably open to paying a bit more to earn more time at home.
Is it just me or does this ad come off as completely tone-deaf?
