Mary Lee Cerillo: Report from Stevens Miller Office Opening in Sterling

Sunday, September 20, 2009

Another excellent report from Sully District (Fairfax County) Democratic Committee Chairman Mary Lee Cerillo:
This afternoon Stevens Miller's office Grand Opening took place in Sterling. The place was packed with volunteers, anxious to start phone banking and canvassing. The office is located at 22360 Sterling Blvd. Suite D105, Sterling, Va. 20164. It is in the same shopping center as the Safeway. Please come out to the office and help contribute to Steven Miller winning as delegate in the 86th District.

Delegate Dave Poisson also stopped by to say hello and speak to the crowd. He talked about the importance of Stevens Miller picking up this delegate seat. The General Assembly in Richmond has been paralyzed for years by the Republican majority which has kept them from getting anything done for our transportation problems throughout our state. Anytime our delegates try to get legislation passed it is squashed by the Republicans. When Republicans decide to run for office or to be reelected they then tell us how much they're going to do about the transportation problem. I sure haven't seen transportation addressed since they've been in the majority, so clue me in as to how it's NOW going to happen. It's easy to make false promises but as we've seen in the past, those promises don't come true.

P.S. I'll have more on Stevens Miller later this evening, particularly focusing on the close ties between supposed "moderate" Del. Thomas Davis Rust and right-wing/gay-hating extremist Eugene Delgaudio. Stay tuned!
