John O'Bannon's Campaign Goes Completely Bonkers

Monday, September 21, 2009

Based on this email I just received, it appears that John O'Bannon's (R-73) campaign has gone completely bonkers. What the hell?!?
Lowell,

John O’Bannon has crossed the line.

In an email to supporters on Friday, O'Bannon linked to this blog post accusing me of supporting child prostitution. As the parents of three young girls, Anne and I are disgusted by this vile accusation that goes well beyond differences in politics or ideology.

I started running for the House of Delegates because I wanted to create a brighter future for my three young daughters. I believed that there were important differences between John O’Bannon and myself. Throughout this campaign, I’ve focused on these differences rather than engaging in a race to the bottom.

It is clear John has no such restraint. He has decided that his best chance to win is to advance outrageous, insulting claims about me. Is this the type of representation the 73rd District deserves?

Show John O'Bannon that this type of rhetoric has no place in Virginia politics. Please contribute $500, $250, $100 or whatever you can afford today.

Last week we found out that John O'Bannon has over $200,000 which he will use to launch these disgusting personal attacks.

I will not stoop to his level. I will continue to focus on how we can bring good-paying jobs to the region, ensure our schools are preparing our children for the 21st Century economy, and cut waste to save taxpayer dollars.

However, in order to get my message out, I need you!

Help me defend myself against these insulting attacks. Please contribute $1,000, $700, $300 or whatever you can afford today.

Thanks to your support, our message of building a new generation of independent leadership is resonating throughout the 73rd District. John O'Bannon is launching these personal attacks because he doesn't want the voters to understand the real differences between us. Don't let him get away with it!

All the best,

Tom

P.S. Show O'Bannon that you disapprove of his disgusting attacks by donating $100, $50, $25 or whatever you can afford.
UPDATE: Unbelievable, they're actually doubling down on this insanity. Wow.
