There was quite a crowd in Centreville late this afternoon to show their support for Senator Creigh Deeds and Mark Keam who is running for Delegate in the 35th District to replace Steve Shannon who is running for Attorney General. The store was packed with shoppers getting ready for the holiday weekend. The owner of International Grand Mart and his daughter were gracious enough to take the two candidates and their supporters on a tour of the store. Several shoppers wanted to meet Creigh Deeds and Mark Keam and shook hands with them. They both thoroughly enjoyed themselves and got to sample quite a bit of food on their tour. In case you haven't shopped in Grand Mart in Centreville, I've got to tell you they've got the best produce in town and the freshest fish, some of which is flown in from Korea on a daily basis.
We then all left the Grand Mart and headed over to Sikgaek Restaurant.......a great find and Korean Restaurant. Creigh was greeted by the owner and his wife, the manager and several Korean American supporters. The owner spoke and talked about her concerns regarding the economy and how hard it is to run a small business with prices so high. She and her husband also don't have health insurance as it is so costly. Creigh Deeds listened to her concerns with great empathy and concern. Creigh spoke to supporters and told them he plans to DO something about the transportation problem in Virginia as one of his first priorities. He also intends to keep our public schools' reputation as he feels that the best thing we can do for our kids is to provide them with an excellent education. They are our future and we need to invest in them. In all, it was a great afternoon. I'm amazed that so many people came out, especially with it being the start of a holiday weekend. Go Creigh! Go Mark Keam!!

Another excellent job by Mary Lee Cerillo, who provides this report and photos from Centreville earlier today.
