Tim Kaine: Sorry, Norm, We're Not Redoing the Minnesota Election

Tuesday, March 3, 2009

Sometime in the near future, Minnesota will have a new U.S. Senator and his name will most definitely NOT be "Norm Coleman." The fact is, Al Franken's good enough, smart enough, and doggone it, the people of Minnesota liked him enough to give him more votes than the incumbent. It's called "democracy" - deal with it, Norm.
Governor Kaine’s Response to Coleman Suggestion to Redo Minnesota Election

Washington, DC –Governor Tim Kaine, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, issued the following statement today after Norm Coleman suggested that the results of Minnesota’s election be thrown out:

“The people of Minnesota have spoken. It’s time for Norm Coleman to accept the voters’ decision, do what is best for his state and country and stop standing in the way of a Senator being seated. The stakes for our country are too high right now to suggest that the results of a democratic election, exhaustive recount, and legal proceedings be thrown out just because Norm Coleman doesn’t like the results.”
