Going back to 1997, Delegate Plum has collected $45,250 from Dominion, all before he took on the job of being House Democratic Caucus chairman, and simply for the pleasure of being re-elected one of 100 Delegates to Virginia’s lower house. My god, one of Terry McAuliffe's endorsers has received just a bit more from Dominion Power than Brian Moran himself. (rolls eyes) But look, if they really want to go there, we can go there too. I just spent some time tallying up Dominion Power contributions to Brian Moran's House of Delegates endorsers.
Since 1997, I found $166,699 in contributions from Dominion Power to Brian Moran's House of Delegates endorsers alone (not counting Brian Moran himself, who received $46,100 from Dominion). People like the esteemed Lionell Spruill, Sr., also a paid employee of Brian Moran's campaign, who received $17,169 from the nice folks at Dominion. People like Brian Moran's former leadership partner in the House of Delegates, Ward Armstrong, who received $24,750 from the mountaintop removal/global warming gang. Etc., etc.
In short, if Brian Moran's campaign (and blog allies) want to start looking at endorsers and where they got their money from, I'm sure it will be highly illuminating. Bring it on, guys. :)
P.S. Oh yeah, I just remembered, Brian Moran's also probably trying to distract everyone from the fact that, this Thursday, a Senior Vice President of Dominion Power will be co-hosting a fundraiser in his honor. Lovely.
