Owen Pickett for Terry McAuliffe

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

This is an impressive endorsement for Terry McAuliffe:
"Terry McAuliffe has the dynamic leadership qualities and visionary problem solving ability that Virginia needs today to deal with the serious economic challenges confronting us, " Pickett said. "Whether it's his commitment to keeping the nuclear carriers in Norfolk or developing Virginia's green industry, Terry will bring the innovative ideas that we need in Richmond to create and keep good jobs here in the Commonwealth."
Pickett represented the Hampton Roads area in Congress from 1987 to 2001, remains highly respected, and should help Terry McAuliffe in that crucial "swing" region of the Commonwealth. Congratulations to Terry McAuliffe on gaining Owen Pickett's endorsement. (note: on April 18, 2006, Pickett endorsed Jim Webb for U.S. Senate, with Webb calling Pickett "one of the most respected and sharpest minds in Virginia and national politics")

P.S. Also yesterday, "Draft James Webb" co-founder Josh Chernila - one of the most respected and hardest-working Democratic, netroots activists in Virginia - endorsed Terry McAuliffe for governor. So much for the (ridiculous) concept that McAuliffe's campaign is all "top down" and not grassroots enough.

P.P.S. There's also Susan Meriner, one of the true netroots heroes of 2006 for Jim Webb, who's working her heart out for Terry McAuliffe. Starting to sense a pattern here?
