InsideNOVA: Jeff Frederick is "out-of-touch, foolish, ignorant"

Tuesday, March 10, 2009

Why can't Virginia Republicans and right-leaning newspapers see the brilliance of Jeff Frederick as we Democrats see him? Now, it's InsideNOVA piling on, with an editorial entitled "GOP needs someone new at the top":
It’s time for a new chair of the Virginia Republican Party, and it’s not just us saying so.

[runs through a litany of Frederick's various "foolish," "ignorant," "out-of-touch" behavior]

To sum up: Frederick is out-of-touch, foolish, ignorant, inexperienced and cannot be excused. If the GOP wants to regain its former glory in Virginia, then it needs to find a chairman with opposite qualities. Otherwise, the state party will continue its rapid slide to the bottom.
Actually, I think the Republican Party has a lot more problems - like a complete lack of positive, constructive ideas or the least clue about how to get things done for the people of Virginia - than Jeff Frederick. Wouldn't dumping Jeff be like changing the manager of a baseball team that's finished last several years in a row because it's got bad players, bad ownership, and a bad attitude? Does that ever work? More importantly, how can Republicans get rid of Jeff Frederick when he provides hilariously comic relief for thousands, if not millions, of Virginians going through hard times. Given that this is about the only "added value" offered by Virginia Republicans these days, I'm not sure what they'd be gaining by cutting Frederick free. For my part, I'd love to see him stay on indefinitely. I don't know about you, but "RPV-Chairman-for-Life Frederick" sounds pretty good to me.
