From
The Hill:
Republicans appear to have another repeat candidate in 2010, as former Rep. Virgil Goode (R-Va.) has filed to reclaim the seat he lost in November.
Goode filed Wednesday with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) — a move that allows him to raise money for the race — but he has not publicly said what his 2010 plans are. Regardless, the race is sure to be a top GOP target.
In other words, he's baaaaaack. Well, all I can say is, we missed ya Virgil. This time around, there will almost certainly be more great material we can work with, such as Virgil's connections to
The PMA Group, a lobbying firm which
made "$1.5 million in political contributions from 2000 through 2008 as the lobbyist’s now-embattled firm helped clients win billions of dollars in federal contracts." According to
CQ Politics:
The PMA Group’s offices were raided in November in connection with an FBI investigation into its campaign contribution practices, according to multiple news accounts. The Associated Press reported Tuesday that the home of the founder of The PMA Group, former House Appropriations aide Paul Magliocchetti, was also raided.
MZM, PMA...Virgil Goode is pretty much an alphabet's soup of unsavory donations and questionable behavior. Should be a fun campaign! :)
