I just received the following statement from Jon Bowerbank for LG campaign manager Jon Paul Lupo regarding tonight's LG debate in Fairfax at the public access TV studios.The notion that a political debate that is meant to provide people with an fair look at each candidates views on the issues could be moderated by someone who is publicly supporting one of the candidates for that office is anti-democratic.FYI, the moderator, George Burke, has endorsed Jody Wagner. I spoke with the Signer campaign and they say they're not concerned about the moderator and are looking forward to debating Jody Wagner. Should be interesting...debate starts at 6:30 pm.
P.S. Also, it's worth noting that both Bowerbank and Signer had been calling for debates, and that Jim Southworth of Fairfax County Public TV writes at Blue Commonwealth, "The candidates who will participate this debate Sunday are Jon Bowerbank, Mike Signer, and Jody Wagner." The Bowerbank campaign flatly denies that it ever agreed to this debate. Looks like we have some fireworks before the debate even begins! :)
