In case you want to see what the "red team" is up to, check out this live feed. [Question: why don't Democrats have this from their Central Committee meeting?] For instance, McDonnell just gave a big shout out to a "Home Schoolers for McDonnell/Bolling/Cuccinelli" sign. Wonderful. McDonnell heaps praise on Bill Bolling, calls Ken Cuccinelli a "great lawyer." McDonnell now bashing "federal programs" and "big government," praising "free enterprise" and using your "god-given talents." "We want to turn Virginia into the energy capital of the East Coast." Nuclear. Drill for oil off the coast. Put that money into transportation. [Lowell's note: what a pathetic joke]
Now they're talking about their top priority: holding Cooch's Senate seat, supporting Steve Hunt. "We're saying no to the union takeover" [Lowell's note: huh?!?]
Bolling: the last few of these events have been more like wakes than celebrations. We won because we were offering a positive vision for the future of our state. Our opponents ran "campaigns of division." We need to remain committed to our conservative principles and values...our ideas are better than the other side. [Lowell's note: for the millionth time, why we can't we hear this kind of rhetoric from the Democratic Party of Virginia about PROGRESSIVE principles and values?!?]
McDonnell: Typical right-wing blather and b.s. about his supposedly "positive," "practical" "conservative" ideas/vision. Uh huh. More use for coal? Yeah, that's brilliant...so much for being a good steward of god's creation, which they should have taught McDonnell at Regent. Says he will protect "property rights," which of course we all know is really code language for trashing the environment. My god, the next four years is going to be a nightmare.
