...this is worth it: Charles Johnson, the founder of this leading conservative blog, breaking definitively with the right wing. According to Johnson, the "American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff." Why is this, in Johnson's view?
2. Support for bigotry, hatred, and white supremacism (see: Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, Robert Stacy McCain, Lew Rockwell, etc.)

6. Support for anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, militias, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)

7. Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)

[...]

10. Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source)
Strong stuff, but oh so true. Also, I must say, Charles Johnson is one brave man to say all this publicly.

P.S. Crooks and Liars has an interesting take on Johnson's post, including their observation that the GOP "is a dying party that has been taken over by religious extremists, bigots, conspiracy theorists and worse." Unfortunately, here in Virginia, we just elected a bunch of those people to office on November 3. Wonderful.
