F@&#$@#$ the NRA

Monday, September 14, 2009

That's all I have to say about this news.
Republican and Democratic operatives say the National Rifle Association will endorse Republican Bob McDonnell for governor.

The gun rights group plans to announce its endorsement in a Monday afternoon conference call for reporters.
NLS has more.

P.S. Click here to watch Rudy Giuilani call the NRA a bunch of "extremists." Giuiliani adds:
The NRA is involved in a strategy that I don't understand. I don't understand fighting...the ban on assault weapons. I have a police department of 38,000 police officers, that's the largest in the country. Those police officers are in jeopardy so long as there are assault weapons out there, so long as criminals can get their hands, outside of New York City, on guns that are instruments of mass destruction...the NRA's defense of assault weapons and their unwillingness to deal with some of the realities here that we face in cities is a terrible, terrible mistake.

UPDATE: To get a flavor of the NRA's extremist views, watch this video, in which the group's CEO says that "our Founding Fathers understood that the guys with the guns make the rules." No, sorry, but we live in a nation ruled by law, not brute force, as much as the NRA wishes it were that way. It's insanity like this which once caused George HW Bush to resign from the NRA "because of vicious attacks on Federal officials in an NRA mailing." What else is there to say about this group?
