Barack Obama Honors Those Who Served on D-Day

Saturday, June 6, 2009

The full text of President Obama's speech is available here. An excellent, moving speech on the 65th anniversary of D-Day, at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.

Speaking of the fact that it's now been 65 years since D-Day, on NPR this morning someone was pointing out that the veterans of D-Day are now in the sunset years of their lives. I see them sometimes at the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC, and I always want to say "thank you for saving the world from tyranny and evil." Because that is exactly what they did. So, again, THANK YOU!
