Republicans Go After Creigh's Family

Friday, July 10, 2009

Stay classy, Republicans!
Austin Creigh Deeds, 20, is due to be arraigned next week on a charge stemming from a May 30 incident in his native Bath County.

The younger Deeds, whom family and friends call Gus, is a rising junior at the College of William and Mary. He is one of four children in the Deeds family.

His legal entanglement was unearthed by political operatives digging for dirt. Deeds faces a tight race against Republican Bob McDonnell, and the national organizations of both parties are closely involved in the campaign.
[begin serious snark]Of course, in fairness to the Republican "operatives" digging up "dirt" on Creigh's family, this does after all have a great deal to do with Creigh Deeds' vision for Virginia, his qualifications to be governor, and other such substantive matters. And, of course, Bob McDonnell will condemn these "operatives" and pledge to run a campaign focused on his (far-right-wing) vision for Virginia and stays away from Creigh Deeds' family. [end serious snark] Oh, forget it...

UPDATE: Meanwhile, over at Free Republic (I refuse to link to that trash, but here's the Daily Kos story) they're bashing Malia Obama ("ghetto trash" is one of the typical epithets) for wearing a peace symbol t-shirt. Now, I'm sure none of the Freepers ever wore t-shirts when they were kids, let alone peace symbol t-shirts, let alone in godless/socialist/commie Europe, but still...this is yet another new low = racist attacks on Barack Obama's 11-year-old daughter - for the right wingnuts. Pathetic.
