On and on it goes, with Wilder questioning the entire Deeds campaign strategy ("What Creigh is running is a campaign of linkage and lineage--first cousin to Warner and Kaine. The question is, is that link strong enough?") and sympathetically explaining why Sheila Johnson endorsed Bob McDonnell ("she had felt taken for granted by Deeds").
Now, obviously, Doug Wilder can say whatever he wants and nobody's going to stop him. What I can't understand is what's really motivating him to do this. Also, I fail to understand how this kind of talk really helps anyone on the "blue team"- Deeds, Kaine, Obama, or even Wilder himself (although he certainly gets tons of attention out of this) - unless possibly Wilder is identifying real problems that need to be and CAN BE corrected. Honestly, I don't know what's going on at this point, but this definitely doesn't seem like the best way for Democrats to beat Bob McDonnell this November.
