Rasmussen: McDonnell 44%-Deeds 41%

Rasmussen is out with a new poll, which shows "McDonnell leading Deeds 44% to 41%" while "12% are undecided." Rasmussen adds, "A month ago, just after Deeds beat two other gubernatorial candidates in the state Democratic Primary, he posted a six-point lead over McDonnell, 47% to 41%."

Other info from the poll:

*Favorable/unfavorable ratings are 50/27 for McDonnell, 49/35 for Deeds.
*Deeds leads among women (by 5 points), McDonnell among men (by 12 points).
*Republicans overwhelmingly (85%) back McDonnell, with a slightly lower percentage of Democrats (79%) backing Deeds.
*Mark Warner is "the most popular politician in the state," with a 64/32 favorable/unfavorable rating.
*Tim Kaine has a narrow (48/44) favorable rating.
*48% of Virginia voters disapprove of Kaine serving as DNC chairman, with just 38% approving.
*Obama's favorable/unfavorable ratings in Virginia are 51/48, "largely unchanged from June."
