Mark Warner: Virginia Can be the "Silicon Valley" of New Energy Development

Monday, July 13, 2009

The following words from Mark Warner sure sound good.
In the 80's, Virginia was able to be a leader in a lot of the telecom activities. When you think about the 90's, it was the internet, it was AOL, it was other companies...Virginia was the leader. We've got the chance for Virginia to plant the flag and be, in effect, the Silicon Valley of new energy development for the whole country. And I think over the next 25 years more jobs, more wealth, is going to be created around energy than any other sector. And if we do it right, we can take on not only the problem not only of climate change but free ourselves of our dependence on foreign oil and create literally millions of new jobs right here in America.
Now, let's get Senator Warner behind a strong, serious clean energy and climate change bill in the U.S. Senate and he'll be a true hero.
