UPDATE: You can download the audio of the interview here (MP3)

Just a quick post as I get ready for work here in surprisingly chilly Ballston.

Was listening to WTOP Radio as I made my morning coffee. They had Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) on to react to President Obama's speech.

The hosts said, "We hear a lot of people talking about compromise and bipartisanship. What specifically are you willing to compromise on?"

"The president needs to drop the public option," said Wolf. "We don't need a government-sponsored plan and there's a lot of opposition to that and the president needs to take that out."

"Yes, we know what YOU want THE PRESIDENT to compromise on," the exasperated hosts pleaded. "But what are YOU willing to compromise on?"

"The president needs to include tort reform," Wolf continued, undaunted. "My doctor friends tell me that's important."

Have Democrats been capitulating to Republicans for so long, Republicans don't even know what the word "compromise" means anymore? Or is ol' Wolfie just getting a little long in the tooth and has maybe forgotten? (I can hear Lowell now: "Or maybe he's just an idiot.")
