I can't decide if this is good news or not for Glenn Nye. According to Roll Call, "Attorney and Marine veteran Chuck Smith (R) is already in the race, but national Republican strategists are also watching state Sen. Ken Stolle (R) and Virginia Beach Mayor Will Sessoms (R) among others." Any thoughts on which Republican would pose the greatest threat to Glenn Nye next year?UPDATE: I received an email reminding me that Ken Stolle is running for Sheriff of Virginia Beach this year, and also that Stolle has announced he has Parkinson's Disease. Both of those factors seem to make it unlikely Stolle would run for Congress next year against an incumbent. That's probably good news for Glenn Nye, as Stolle could have been a tough opponent.
Also, I've heard that Chuck Smith is not well liked by the Virginia Beach Republican Party.
