Courtesy of Think Progress comes this gem by Bob McDonnell for Governor campaign chair Ed Gillespie:
BLITZER: You remember, your President — President Bush — he did find a woman, Harriet Miers, to be his nominee, and that didn’t exactly work out. Did he get gun shy after that?Uh, Ed, do you mean women like these, all of whom are reported to be under consideration to replace retiring justice David Souter on the Supreme Court?
GILLESPIE: He did not get gun shy after that, but I think that in the next round of the selection process, the person who emerged as clearly most qualified — really head and shoulders above others –was Samuel Alito, and there wasn’t a woman who was of a comparable experience and skill and temperament and intellect.

Of course, these are all women being considered by Barack Obama, so perhaps Ed Gillespie is only insulting conservative women by claiming there are none with "a comparable experience and skill and temperament and intellect" to Samuel Alito? Yeah, I'm sure that will go over real well among Bob McDonnell's female (former?) supporters.
