RPV Soap Opera Continues

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

For Virginia Democrats, the continuing Republican Party of Virginia soap opera is a nirvana chocolate bar wrapped in chewy tender nougat goodness. In contrast, for any Virginia Republican who actually cares about winning elections, this has got to be a hair-raising, skin-crawling nightmare:
The infighting among Republicans is not over yet.

Bill Stanley, leader of the Franklin County Republican Committee, announced today that he will run for state GOP chairman against Pat Mullins on May 30 at the state convention.

[...]

If Stanley's name is familiar, it's because he represented [Jeff] Frederick at the State Central Committee last month when he was removed. (But his most famous client was Paula Jones in her sexual harrassment case against former president Bill Clinton.)
That's right, just when you thought the RPV might be starting to settle down, who enters the picture but a Jeff Frederick doppelganger who used to be Paula Jones' lawyer. I don't know about you, but personally I'm planning to make myself a big batch of popcorn, kick back and enjoy the spectacle on May 30. :)
