Mark Warner Visits Virginians in Iraq

Monday, May 25, 2009

From Mark Warner's Flickr page:
Sen. Mark Warner shared a meal at Camp Victory with some Virginia troops serving in Iraq during a trip to the region on Memorial Day. He got a chance to listen to their experiences and concerns.

"I told the men and women how proud I was of their military service, and that I understood how hard it was to be deployed away from their families and loved ones -- especially on a holiday like Memorial Day," he said.

Ray Odierno, the four-star U.S. Army general who commands the multi-national force in Iraq" and also with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.
