"Aznew" Starts a Blog

Monday, March 23, 2009

I'm very happy to see that my friend Alan Zimmerman, aka "Aznew," has started a blog of his very own. While I don't agree with Alan that Creigh Deeds should be our nominee, I certainly DO agree that our goal should be "the election of Progressive Democrats across the Commonwealth." Even better, this blog is being run by one of the smartest, classiest people in the Virginia blogosphere. I really learned to respect Alan during the hard-fought, sometimes bitter, Clinton-Obama primary battle last year. Even though I supported Obama and Alan supported Clinton, and even though RK was "Obama Central," Alan stuck to his pro-Hillary guns in a firm, smart, and respectful manner. Once the primary ended, Alan worked hard to help Obama win Virginia, and also to help Tom Perriello defeat Virgil Goode. After the current primary is finished, I fully expect to be working closely with Alan once again. As always, I'm sure it will be a lot of fun.

Mazel tov on your new blog, Alan!

UPDATE: One of Aznew's first diaries is a hard-hitting one on Brian Moran's (self-professed) pro-choice credentials.
Mr. Moran should both explain his 2003 vote undercutting a woman’s right to choose, and the distortion of his record on his web site, currently.

Mr. Moran should also clarify his views on a woman’s right to choose. Would Mr. Moran again vote in favor of legislation that would put the Virginia General Assembly between a decision that properly belongs to a woman and her doctor?
Well, it certainly looks like Alan's not going to pull any punches on his new blog!
