10/15 Fundraising Numbers Starting to Come In

Thursday, October 15, 2009

According to VPAP, "All candidates running in November elections are required to file campaign finance reports by 5 p.m. today." I'll report the information as I receive it.

Governor: Not Larry Sabato reports, "Creigh Deeds raised 3.5 million in September, spent 5.1 million. 2.77 million on hand." Also, "Bob McDonnell raised 3.8 million in September, spent 5.1 million. 4.50 million on hand."

LG: The Jody Wagner (D) campaign says it has "closed Bill Bolling's cash on hand gap to just $300,000 - from nearly $1 million last quarter." According to the Virginia Politics blog, "Republican Bill Bolling raised $476,144 in September" and "had $1.2 million cash on hand -- also a very impressive number going into the final full month of the campaign." Wagner had "$875,800 in cash on end at the end of the month to fund the remainder of her effort."

AG: Steve Shannon (D) raised $531,965 in the month of September, and ended the month with $1,420,859 on hand. According to the Shannon campaign, that's "nearly half a million dollars more cash on hand than [Shannon's] opponent, Sen. Ken Cuccinelli." According to the Virginia Politics blog, "Ken Cuccinelli, the Republican nominee for attorney general, raised $672,315 in September" and had "$936,045 in the bank heading into October."

House of Delegates (see VPAP for all the information; here are a few of the most competitive races).

3rd HoD District: Del. Dan Bowling has $39,407 cash on hand, James Morefield has $14,668.

21st HoD District: Ronald Villaneuva has $27,881. I don't see Del. Bobby Mathieson's numbers yet...

The Werkheiser campaign points out, "Werkheiser has reached fundraising parity with Albo, erasing Albo's significant cash-on-hand advantage at the start of the cycle."]
