Virginia Republican Congressmen All Get "F" From NAACP

Thursday, February 4, 2010

The NAACP is out with its 2009 report card, and the results are - sad to say - almost exactly as you'd expect.

Eric Cantor: F
Randy Forbes: F
Bob Goodlatte: F
Rob Wittman: F
Frank Wolf: F

In contrast, Democrats Jim Webb and Mark Warner both got "A" grades, as did Democrats Gerry Connolly, Jim Moran and Bobby Scott. Virginia's other two Freshmen Democratic Representatives, Glenn Nye and Tom Perriello, received NAACP grades of "B" and "C", respectively, while Rick Boucher got a "C". In short, Democrats weren't perfect but they did a great deal better than the Republicans, who received a uniform, pathetic grade of "F" (note: it's a fascinating coincidence that these people get an "F" from the NAACP and are also obsessed with ACORN and the Black Panther Party...hmmm).

NAACP Gives Virginia General Assembly an "F"

Friday, February 13, 2009

This is embarrassing but well deserved:
The General Assembly got a failing grade from the Virginia NAACP yesterday on the day the national organization commemorated the 100th anniversary of its founding.

Early voting, the "gun-show loophole" and payday lending are some of the areas in which General Assembly action has fallen short of needs, said King Salim Khalfani, executive director of the Virginia State Conference of the NAACP.

"This is why the NAACP is necessary," he said during a news conference.

And guess which party took the lead in opposing early voting, payday lending reform, closing the "gun show loophole," etc? I'll give you a hint: they're the ones who also deny global warming, evolutionary science, and the right of women to control their own bodies. Hmmmm.
